License agreement
License to use information from WATER4CAST 2.0
1. Introduction
WATER4CAST 2.0 is funded by the Prometeo program for excellence research groups – PROMETEO 2021 , from the Conselleria de Innovación, Universidades, Ciencia y Sociedad Digital of the Generalitat Valenciana (GVA). The project beneficiary is the IIAMA-UPV (Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de València ). The visualization platform has been developed by the company WaterPi.
WATER4CAST 2.0 contains modified information from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Neither the European Commission, the ECMWF, nor NOAA are responsible for any use made of the Copernicus or NOAA data contained herein.
2. General Terms
This License sets out the terms of use of WATER4CAST 2.0. By accepting these terms, the Licensee agrees to comply with all the terms and conditions of this License for the use of WATER4CAST 2.0.
3. Access Conditions
- This License is free of charge, non-exclusive, requires no payment of intellectual property fees, and is perpetual.

Access to WATER4CAST 2.0 is granted for any purpose, provided it complies with Spanish legislation. Use may include, but is not limited to: reproduction; distribution; communication to the public; adaptation, modification, or combination with other data and information; or any combination of the above.
4. Attribution Requirement
All users who make use of WATER4CAST 2.0 information must provide clear and visible attribution to WATER4CAST 2.0, the Prometeo program for excellence research groups – PROMETEO 2021 , and the Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de València. Users who reproduce any graphical output from the platform must also provide clear and visible attribution to WaterPi and the authors of the work, which can be cited according to the help center link on the platform.
When the Licensee produces or contributes to a publication or distribution containing adapted or modified WATER4CAST 2.0 data, the Licensee must include the following notice or a similar one:
“Contains modified information from WATER4CAST 2.0 [Year], a project under the Prometeo program for excellence research groups.”
5. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights of the data provided by the WATER4CAST 2.0 platform belong to the Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de València (IIAMA-UPV) .
All new intellectual property rights created as a result of modifying or adapting WATER4CAST 2.0 information shall belong to the creator, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in Article 4.
6. Provision of Third-Party Information and Data
This License covers only WATER4CAST 2.0 Products. Access to third-party products and data related to WATER4CAST 2.0 information that the Licensee is directed to, or may access directly through any WATER4CAST 2.0 portal, will be subject to different licensing terms.
7. No Commitments
The IIAMA-UPV makes no commitment to:
- Provide any technical support services associated with the WATER4CAST 2.0 platform.
- Provide any training related to the use of the WATER4CAST 2.0 platform or its replication.
8. No Warranty
The IIAMA-UPV provides WATER4CAST 2.0 “as is” and does not guarantee:
- That WATER4CAST 2.0 Products are free from errors or omissions.
- That such errors or omissions can or will be corrected.
- That the Licensee will have uninterrupted, continuous, or timely access to WATER4CAST 2.0 Products.
The IIAMA-UPV excludes all warranties, conditions, terms, undertakings, and obligations, whether express or implied by law, including, without limitation, implied warranties of satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose or otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. No Acceptance of Liability
The IIAMA-UPV accepts no liability for any damage or loss, whether direct or indirect, arising from the Licensee’s use of WATER4CAST 2.0 Products.
10. Changes to this License
The IIAMA-UPV may revise this License at any time and will notify users of any revisions via the platform.
